課程設計及導師：課程由經驗豐富的教師，輔導教師，香港大學的碩士或博士畢業生任教。

課程目標

融合與特殊教育研究發展中心暑期課程的目標旨在提昇學生的創意及高階思維，個人能力與社交能力，生涯及才能發展。此外，課程也能誘導學生發掘問題及探索多角度解難方法，讓他們成為更自主學習的人。大部份的課程活動都以小組形式進行，藉此讓學生認識、接納和欣賞人與人之間的差異。

修畢課程證書

參加者出席率逹80%或以上均獲發修畢課程證書乙張和個人表現報告書以供家長參考。

深信學校老師最為了解學生的能力和潛質，希望 學校能提名學生參加本課程，讓學生在暑假期間進一步發掘和發展個別才能。此外，本課程亦歡迎學生之校外活動導師，學長和家長提名學生參加課程了解學生在學校以外的表現。

助學金

融合與特殊教育研究發展中心希望學生都有平等機會去學習，本課程為需要經濟援助的學生提供助學金。獲發助學金的學生只需繳付低至一成學費（出席率須達100%）。助學金的申請將由中心作個別審批。

CAISE Seminar: Teaching how to Learn and Learn how to Teach it

On the basis of a model of self-regulated learning, the impact of learning strategies will be outlined. It will be shown how this knowledge can be introduced to children. Students will understand learning strategies as a part of their learning behavior which is an essential precondition to empower self-regulated learning. It will also emphasize on how teachers can support children with special needs in learning to understand and actively influence their learning process. A stepwise introduction procedure makes imparting easier and offers opportunities to implement learning strategies in your classroom.

活動推介 : Day of Mindfulness for Children

CAISE in collaboration with Plum Village Mindfulness Academy, are going to run a Day of Mindfulness for Children on 12 March 2016 (Sat), from 1pm to 4pm at the main campus of The University of Hong Kong.
The event will accommodate not more than 20 Primary students from Grade 3 to 5.

What is ‘Day of Mindfulness for Children’?
It is a day for children to experience the happiness of the present moment by having a series of mindfulness practice activities. This mindfulness practice will help children become more focused and attentive in their daily lives.

In this age of computer games, electronic devices and TV, it is important to guide children to spend more time understanding themselves better and to find joy in life. Practice of mindfulness can also increase the quality of learning. We are grateful if you could disseminate this information to your friends who may have interest in it. The event poster and details of the event are attached for your further information.

目的 : 全面診斷及分析本港自閉症學童閱讀理解能力背後的關鍵因素及針對性的改善策略。

對象
1) 就讀於主流小學二, 三或四年級的自閉症學童
2) 曾確診為自閉症/高功能自閉症/亞氏保加症

兒童文學共融推廣計劃

是次活動主要鼓勵大學生們透過兒童文學創作 (包括文字和繪本)，在小學校園推動共融文化，讓兒童能從日常生活中學會共融。

為了讓大家認識有不同學習需要的人，並加強文字和繪本創作之技巧，本計劃將提供不同主題的工作坊和學校探訪，讓大家對共融概念有更深入了解，從而啟發大家創作的靈感。

研究邀請 : 香港大學提升中文閱讀學習能力策略研究

探討隱性學習機制在中文閱讀能力培養過程中的作用

研究重點：

1. 探討學童能否透過隱性學習，從接觸文字的生活經驗中學習中文；
2. 揭示大腦網絡如何搭建中文字詞的知識結構；
3. 探討有讀寫障礙的學生的隱性學習能力，深入了解讀寫障礙的成因。

應用可能性：
1. 豐富中文閱讀學習方式，激發學生的學習興趣，讓中文閱讀學習隱于生活，樂而不累；
2. 發現有讀寫障礙的學生的學習潛力，改善閱讀和學習能力。

參與本研究對學生的好處：
1. 通過嚴謹科學的測試，探索學生的多元能力，包括隱性學習，視知覺加工，及部首運等；
2. 家長可取得孩子的個人測試成績，幫助其了解自身的長短處，增強自信；
3. 幫助學生了解中文文字的結構規則及構字規律，提高學習中文字詞的效率；
4. 創造機會讓學生體驗參與研究過程，提高依從指令及遇到問題主動與研究人員溝通能力；
5. 完成測試后，學生可獲贈五十元之書券，鼓勵其多閱讀，培養中文學習的興趣。

本研究由香港大學言語及聽覺科學部佟秀麗博士指導進行，現誠邀小學四、五年級診斷為有讀寫障礙的學童，參與是次研究。由於名額有限，如有興趣參與是項研究，請于 1 月 30 日前聯繫何小姐（55986326 / slrlab.tracy@gmail.com）。具體的研究計劃請參閱附件。

The CAISE REVIEW is published annually. Contributions are invited from interested persons, covering any relevant aspects of research, theory, and practice in the general field of education, psychology, guidance and counselling, information communication technology or diversity in learning.

Case studies and literature reviews are also welcome.
All articles submitted will be independently and anonymously reviewed by two referees.
The Editor will be pleased to consider suggestions for any ‘Special Theme’ issues.
Anyone wishing to assist as a ‘Guest Editor’ for a special issue should contact the Editor, Dr. Mantak Yuen (email: mtyuen@hku.hk).

Manuscript Preparation Guide

• Authors of all submissions must follow APA 6th style in terms of overall format, tables, diagrams and referencing.
• Papers should usually not exceed 3500 words including references. For manuscript reporting two or more studies, 
• the length should be within 6500 words.
• All submissions must include an abstract (max. 200 words), and provide up to five key words as descriptors.
• The front page should give the author(s)’s name, current professional affiliation and contact details. 
• One author should be identified as the person responsible for correspondence. 
• A statement should also be included stipulating that the paper is not under consideration elsewhere.
• All submissions should be emailed as an attachment (in MS Word or rich text format) to the Executive Editor, Ms. Virginia Cheung, caise@hku.hk.
• Graphs, diagrams, etc., should be in camera-ready form and must have titles. 
• Written permission must be obtained by the author for the reproduction of tables, diagrams, etc. taken from other sources. 
• A copy of the permission statement should be lodged with CAISE if the paper is accepted for publication.
• Page-proofs of papers will be sent to authors for correction of any typesetting errors, and must be returned promptly. 
• At this final page-proof stage the content of the paper must not be modified by the author.
• Deadline for submissions: 8 September 2013 for publication in January.

This seminar series introduces a new paradigm of curriculum approach and

explains how it can empower teachers to respond to the learning needs of students with vast diversity of learning attainment and pace.

Mr. Keith Humphreys, the keynote speaker, will look at two models of diversity-based curriculum and set the scene for a pilot project to implement the new teaching and learning paradigm in Hong Kong schools.

A key to diversity-based teaching and learning is an assessment procedure to identify the varying attainment levels of students.

This will be the subject of two studies on the validity and application of an assessment tool, SCALE.
