P.L.A.I. is a perfect place for passionate individuals who are keen on developing a career in supporting children with special needs. We are currently looking for passionate individuals to join our expert team to provide family-centred support for families and schools. 

P.L.A.I. specializes in using ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis) to support children with behaviour problems, language delay, Autism, and/ or other developmental disabilities. We provide home-based intervention as well as school support for pre-school and school-aged children. Our consultant designs an individualized behaviour support plan for each child we support. As an ABA therapist, you will be responsible in implementing the support plan under the supervision of our consultant. We will provide training in ABA when you join P.L.A.I. You will continue to receive training and support on the job. If you are interested in further in this field, P.L.A.I. is committed to support you by providing regular supervision and professional development opportunities. We would like to make sure that our staff continues to learn and advance their career.

Responsibilities of an ABA therapist:
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support for children with special needs at home, at school, or in the community
  • Apply teaching strategies that follows ABA principles as directed by a behaviour consultant to implement the child’s individualized intervention plan and behavioural support plan
  • Data collection and data management
  • Participate in regular videotaping or supervision during sessions
  • Prepare materials as needed
  • Meet with behaviour consultant on a regular basis
  • Attend professional development workshops and training regularly

活得妙成年關注協會擬推出的《活得妙》電台節目


AD/HD的疾患為患者或未被確診的朋友帶來的無盡困難,包括被誤解做事為懶散、無記性、發白夢、做事重複犯錯,嚴重的更衍生情緒病,甚至陷入賭博、性沉溺、吸毒、偷竊,令社會付出沉重代價,同時令我們受盡考驗,讓我們成為一批「特殊」的人。 

我們深信,世上每一個人也有其獨特價值,透過節目,希望大家能重新發現自我價值,重建自信,無懼任何障礙,發揮才能; 透過不同背景的人物的生命故事,希望讓人們重新定義失敗及挫折;繼而擴展自己的天賦創造力和純真的心,貢獻周遭的社區,為更多不同社群帶更多生活的精彩。願大家都可以活得精彩、「活得妙」。

Autistic Spectrum Disorder
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

Introduction
Mental problems occur in all ages. They can be recognized as early as three years old.
Among them, Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder are the commonest. Teachers and school social workers may misunderstand such problems as deviant behaviour of a naughty student, whereas parents may think they are having a difficult child.
To equip helping professionals who work with the young population in the community, this course will offer basic knowledge and skills to the participants for the assessment and treatment of two types childhood disorders, Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Special efforts will also be given to the integration of concepts and practice through lecture, exercises, sharing and case discussions.
Course Objectives
  1. To acquire the up-to-date knowledge of common childhood Disorders in the New DSM-5
  2. To enhance participant’s assessment and intervention skills in working with children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
Course Contents
  • Overview the New DSM-5: Childhood Disorders
  • Basic Concepts of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) & Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Prevalence, symptoms, clinical course, aetiology and treatment approach
  • Screening methods for these conditions and their management
