論壇回顧 : Hong Kong ASD Conference 2016

The conference is the first annual signature event organized by JC A-Connect: Jockey Club Autism Support Network, which aims at enhancing support for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), their schools and families. Experts, professionals, educators, caregivers and other interested individuals meet to share with work and insights on effective support for children and adolescents with ASD.

Themed “Support Learning and Development”, the Hong Kong ASD Conference 2016 will focus on the support rendered to students in mainstream primary and secondary schools as well as their families. It is expected to attract participants who will:
Learn from leading experts about best educational practices that meet international standards;
Learn about latest trends and developments in services for children and adolescents with ASD as well as their families in Hong Kong and nearby regions; and
Have opportunities to share and discuss with other stakeholders about research findings, good practices, and services through presentations.

Call for Abstracts
Scholars and professionals are invited to submit abstracts for poster presentation under the following elevencategories:
Class management
Community programme
Education policy and inclusion
Home-school collaboration
Individual / group intervention
Parent and family support
Peer programme
Research and evaluation
School programme
Service model
Talent development

An abstract with title, name and contact information of author(s) not more than 300 words should be submitted through the online system at the Conference website on or before April 8, 2016.

論壇回顧：《立法是否保障特殊教育需要學生的出路？》

現時的特殊教育及融合教育政策的問題叢生，識別及輪候服務時間過長、資源及服務不足、教師人手不足及培訓有待改善、醫校社合作未有理順。各個政策失效均指向一個核心的問題，是政府未有整體支援特教學生的政策藍圖及願景。不同地區，如英國、美國、台灣等先進地區，皆有就特殊教育進行立法，以全面保障特殊教育需要學生的權利。張超雄及郭榮鏗議員打算以私人草案方式推動立法，我們與不同團體一同合辦論壇，探討如何保障特教學生的福祉。
