Volunteer Recruitment “More than a Game - Train the Trainers” Program" (Second Round)


“More than a Game - Train the Trainers” Program" aims to discover children sports talent, at the same time to provide both professional theoretical and practical training for in-training teachers and social workers to work or interact with preschool children with and without special needs. In this program, volunteers will take up a very important role in assessing motor skillsand leading various modified sports games for the kids aged 3-6 with/without special needs and their family in an inclusive environment through a safe and fun platform. Program details are as below:

Pre- Assessment Day
Date: 3 - 4 Mar 2014 (Mon - Tue)
Time: 9:00am - 15:00pm on 3 Mar 20149:00am - 15:00pm on 4 Mar 2014
Venue: Kowloon Tong (to be confirmed)

Post- Assessment Day
Date: 19 - 20 May 2014 (Mon - Tue)
Time: 9:00am - 15:00pm on 19 May 20149:00am - 15:00pm on 20 May 2014
Venue: Kowloon Tong (to be confirmed)

More than a Game Period: 4 weeks from 9 - 30 Mar 2014 (ALL Sundays)
Program Time: 11:00am – 12:00nn 
Service Time: 10:30am – 13:00pm
Venue: Dr. Stephen Hui Sports Hall, Hong Kong Baptist University, Kowloon Tong

To reward a certificate, volunteers MUST attend a training workshop, serve on at least 1 pre-assessment day, 1 post-assessment day and 1 More than a Game program day.
The training workshop - “Train the Trainer” is scheduled on 2 Mar 2014 (Sun) from 10:00am to 5:30pm, with Professional speakers sharing the protocols of the motor skills assessment, different cases of special needs kids and ways in leading various modified sports game: You will also get a chance to try out.

For those who are interested, please register by completing the online volunteer recruitment form by 25 Feb 2014 (Tue). The vacancies are limited, only 12 volunteers will be selected. Registrants who are available to serve on both pre- and post-assessment days will have higher priority to be selected. A confirmation email will sent to the selected volunteers by 28 Feb 2014 (Fri).
