All young children engage in behaviors that can be problematic at one time or another. Teachers and parents report that managing children’s behavior is one of the hardest things they do. Facilitating children’s social emotional development can result in the prevention of challenging behaviors. Implementing strategies in the context of naturally occurring routines and environments can make life easier for children and adults alike. In this seminar I will share research-based strategies that have proven effective in supporting young children’s social emotional competence and preventing challenging behavior.
