On the basis of a model of self-regulated learning, the impact of learning strategies will be outlined. It will be shown how this knowledge can be introduced to children. Students will understand learning strategies as a part of their learning behavior which is an essential precondition to empower self-regulated learning. It will also emphasize on how teachers can support children with special needs in learning to understand and actively influence their learning process. A stepwise introduction procedure makes imparting easier and offers opportunities to implement learning strategies in your classroom.
